Services
Here at RMMT we like to say we treat the “rejected” patients. What we mean by that is we treat the patients the majority of doctors/other medical practitioners are afraid or hesitant of. Whether it’s due to the type of injury or illness, we hear it all the time. We accept everyone here and are proud of that! Our licensed therapists are trained and experienced in many different disciplines of therapy. Another reason why we are different is we treat “where the injury is” and not “where we were taught.” Meaning we are going to treat where your injury or illness is stemming from and not shy away from it because our textbooks tell us to.
Our therapies transform how you approach your daily routine.
Medical Massage
Medical massage is a good option if you have repetitive use injury to a muscle, such as what you may get from playing a sport. It also works well if you are prone to injuries because it can be used as a preventative measure. Finally, it can be used to increase flexibility or performance, as well as relieve pain, anxiety or muscle tension. It can be done as a full-body massage or the therapist may choose to focus on the areas that need the most attention.
Lymphatic Massage
Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic treatment that uses very light pressure, a combination of long, gentle, rhythmic strokes, and soft pumping movements to increase lymphatic flow. The aim of this type of massage is to move excess fluid away from areas that become congested so that it can continue to drain away normally. By lightly massaging these areas in the direction of the lymph nodes (located in the neck, armpits and groin) your lymph flow is enhanced, toxins reduced, and the immune system refreshed.
Cupping/Massage Cupping
Cupping is a form of therapeutic bodywork that is used to facilitate deep tissue release and aid in bringing about numerous healthful benefits to the body, such as enhanced flexibility, lymphatic/blood circulation, tissue nourishment, and body detoxification. Massage cupping is performed by applying reverse pressure to the body via plastic suction cups that are massaged along problem areas and in the direction of lymphatic flow.
Reflexology
Reflexology is best for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good choice if you aren't comfortable being touched over your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of the feet, hands, and ears.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a gentle type of full-body massage that is ideal for people who need to release their muscle knots or simply want to fully relax during a massage. The therapist will use a combination of kneading, long flowing strokes in the direction of the heart, deep circular motions, vibration and tapping, as well as passive joint movement techniques.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help relieve pregnancy body aches, reduce stress, and ease muscle tension. Therapists use mild pressure similar to Swedish massage.
Functional Movement Techniques (FMT)
FMT is sport and injury specific. They are by availability only and accommodate 1-3 people per session. We use weights, barre, bands, RockTap, RockFloss and many other variations as we cater to the needs of each individual client.
NormaTec ®
The NormaTec® Pulse Massage Pattern starts in the foot, hand, or lower hip and moves upwards, zone by zone, massaging the limb and mobilizing fluid out of the extremities. Instead of using static compression (squeezing) to transport fluid out of the limbs, Sequential Pulse Technology uses dynamic compression (pulsing). The patented pulsing action more effectively mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms, greatly enhancing the movement of fluid and metabolites out of the limbs.
